Appreciation

Never had i appreciated my eyes 'til that moment
that split second when i had finally seen beauty.
Beauty in it's finest and simplest form.
Never had i appreciated the sun 'til that day.
As it's rays shine upon her dark silk hair.
And as her smooth fair skin glows from it's beams.
Never had i appreciated the roses in the garden
'til that fateful meeting.
The wonderful fragrance and it's perfect crimson color
reminds me of her luscious lips.
And how i long to see them smile and
touch them with my own.
Never had i appreciated the stars in the sky
'til her eyes had met with mine.
Oh, how they shine!
They shine brighter than any other.
Never had i appreciated the works of Bethoven,
Mozart, Bach, or Chopin 'til the moment i heard her voice.
It was music to my ears. A concerto of words.
And never had i appreciated time
'til the moment was over.
She was gone from my sight.
But even though it was short,
That moment was my whole life...
